A little boys sketch book goes a long way

In the spring/summer " livin loud" issue of i-D I read the article " a stroke of genius". The piece was an interview with Giles Deacon about his illustrious prints that normally form some of the most eye catching looks of his shows.

Giles is a keen water colourist and has been since he was a child , he speaks about the days of just wandering off to draw in the rural spaces surrounding his home. Each season we normally see an incredible print , quite often with a humorous undertone .. In the past he has referenced everything from fishing flies , tarantulas , PAC man to massacred Bambi's. I love that season through season their is a tremendous amount of fun in Giles collections and by the first Ungaro presentation is would appear to be something that he's taking to Italy with him.

A few examples of recent printed images.

" what are your all time favourite things to draw ... Animals, people, um.... clouds, food, and around my hand. Haha - I like doing that I'm very childish"
